Prototyping Engineer Mechatronics (m/w/d)

As a Prototyping Engineer Mechatronics, you will be a significant key function of our Prototyping Team and exploring the foundations for enabling new capabilities in our drones. With our world-class team, currently six team members, you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology. ​

You will work closely with stakeholders of the Electronics and Mechanical Hardware Design teams to deliver important input how to make things work and verify our development. With prototyping and testing new technologies, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the benchmark for aerial data collection solutions with unmanned aerial systems (sUAV).​


What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Deliver input for the detailed design of our drones​
  • Integrate new hardware into the existing drone system for testing purposes​
  • Evaluation of requirements for new capabilities and create concepts for integration ​
  • Integrate and test new hardware for suitability to our drones​
  • Develop test strategies, design test stands and lead test campaigns​
  • Verify our prototypes and first articles according to requirements​

What you bring to the team:

  • You have a degree in the field of mechanical or aeronautical engineering
  • Basic knowledge of digital and analog electronics
  • Knowledge in C/C++, Matlab
  • You are interested in drones, engineering, 3d printing or just nerding around
  • You have experience in CAD tools (CATIA and Fusion preferred)
  • You are familiar with Arduino and Co
  • Your open, communicative, very friendly, and competent manner makes it easy for you to be seen as an internal expert.
  • You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility forward independently.
  • Communication in English is a matter of course for you.
