As a Team Lead, you will oversee and guide the development of our autopilot systems and take responsibility for leading and empowering a talented team of embedded software engineers. You will be responsible for enhancing the core features and functionalities that allow our drones to operate autonomously and safely. Your leadership will directly influence the team’s efficiency, technical excellence, and the commercial success of our autopilot systems.

Working closely with System Architecture and Hardware Development teams, you will drive innovation, set the technical direction, and ensure successful execution of projects.


What is your Day to Day Mission


 Leadership and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of seven engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments and with key stakeholders such as the system architecture and hardware teams.
  • Ensure the team’s alignment with company goals and the successful execution of development projects.
  • Plan, prioritize, and delegate tasks effectively to deliver high-quality embedded software solutions for our drones.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and help to implement best practices in software development, code quality, and testing.


Technical Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the autopilot firmware and firmware stack.
  • Lead the design and development of new autopilot functionalities and guide the team through the testing process.
  • Supervise the export and integration of flight control and navigation algorithms from Matlab/Simulink into the autopilot’s embedded framework.
  • Ensure robust implementation, maintenance, and optimization of BSP, peripheral, and sensor drivers.
  • Manage the firmware update ecosystem, including bootloaders and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support the team in debugging, code tracing, and optimizing for code coverage and functionality.
  • Collaborate on firmware build toolchain optimization, ensuring smooth and effective deployment practices.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading teams in embedded software engineering environments, particularly in drone, robotics, or autonomous systems.
  • Extensive experience writing clean and efficient embedded code for microcontrollers, especially in C.
  • Solid understanding of communication interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, ETH) and embedded software for microcontrollers (ARM, Cortex-M).
  • Proficiency in RTOS (uCOS or equivalent) and experience with Git/GitLab for software management.
  • Knowledge of autopilot systems and their functional architecture.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, with the ability to read and understand electronic schematics.
  • A highly motivated, self-directed approach to your work, and the ability to inspire the same in your team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and serve as an internal expert.
  • Fluency in English (minimum B2 level).
