Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI) is a newly established German-Ukrainian defence joint venture between Quantum Systems and Frontline Robotics, created under the Build with Ukraine initiative. For the first time, Ukrainian drones will be manufactured on an industrial scale in Europe, combining Ukrainian battlefield-proven technology with German industrial automation to create a new model of cross-border defence co-production: the German Model.

As a Certification Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our unmanned aerial systems meet all relevant regulatory, safety, and certification requirements. You will coordinate certification activities, manage compliance documentation, and work closely with engineering, quality, and operational teams to support the successful certification and deployment of our UAV solutions.

Our goal is to provide democratic armies, including the Ukrainian forces, with reliable tools to defend their countries and the values they stand for. Your mission at Quantum Frontline Industries will contribute to this purpose by enabling compliant, safe, and certifiable UAV systems that can be deployed with confidence in demanding operational environments.

What is your Day-to-Day Mission:

  • Drive Certification Activities:
Lead, coordinate, and track certification processes for UAV systems, ensuring all activities are executed in line with project timelines, regulatory requirements, and internal deliverables.

  • Ensure Compliance:
Guarantee that UAV systems and related products meet all relevant European and international regulatory requirements, including CE conformity, EASA frameworks, and applicable aviation and product compliance standards.

  • Coordinate Certification Workstreams:
Align certification-related activities across engineering, production, quality assurance, flight operations, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and structured execution.

  • Manage Documentation & Conformity:
Prepare, review, and maintain technical and regulatory documentation, including technical files, declarations of conformity, and certification evidence packages.

  • Support Operational Approvals:
Contribute to UAV operational approval processes, including SORA-based approvals and specific-category requirements, ensuring alignment with operational concepts and system configurations.

  • Regulatory Interpretation & Implementation:
Translate regulatory and certification requirements into clear internal actions, ensuring proper implementation within product development and operational workflows.

  • Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as a key interface for certification topics, coordinating with authorities, notified bodies, testing entities, and external partners, while managing communication and documentation flow.

  • Identify Risks & Ensure Transparency:
Monitor certification progress, identify risks, gaps, and dependencies, and escalate issues in a timely and structured manner.

  • Support Testing & Validation Activities:
Coordinate and support verification, validation, and testing activities required to demonstrate compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards.

  • Improve Certification Processes:
Continuously enhance internal certification procedures, documentation control, and audit readiness, ensuring traceability and structured process execution.

What you bring to the team:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field, or comparable practical experience.

  • Experience in certification, regulatory coordination, or conformity assessment within Germany or the European Union.

  • Hands-on experience in certification of technical products, ideally UAV or aviation systems.

  •  Strong understanding of CE conformity processes and documentation structures.

  • Solid knowledge of EASA regulations and UAV-related frameworks.

  • Familiarity with SORA-based operational approvals and UAV operating categories (A1/A3, A2, STS-01, STS-02).

  • Awareness of international aviation standards (e.g., ICAO principles).

  •  Experience in preparing and managing technical and regulatory documentation.

  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical implementation steps.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage parallel certification workstreams.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including external authorities and partners.

  • Clear and structured communication style.

  • Detail-oriented, structured, and process-driven approach.

  • Ability to identify gaps, track dependencies, and drive follow-up actions independently.
