As a Configuration Manager (m/f/d) in the drone industry, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining product configurations across the full product lifecycle. As part of the Product Management team, you will ensure that our baseline products and customer- or program-specific configurations are clearly defined, controlled, documented, and traceable.

You will manage the configuration of our standard product baselines as well as the different hardware and software configurations required for customer deliveries, projects, and programs. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Customer-facing teams, you will ensure that every delivered system matches the agreed technical configuration and applicable requirements.

From day one, you will take ownership of configuration management activities and help shape processes, tools, and standards that support scalable product delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring stable, transparent, and reliable product data across our products, programs, and customer deliveries.


What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Manage and control product configurations for baseline products, customer deliveries, and program-specific variants.

  • Define and maintain hardware/software baselines, including part numbers, serial numbers, firmware, software releases, versions, and approved options.

  • Ensure consistency and traceability across engineering data, production documentation, ERP/PLM systems, delivery records, service activities, and upgrades.

  • Maintain technical data, material masters, BOMs, product structures, software versions, and configuration records in ERP/PLM systems.

  • Coordinate configuration changes with Product Management, Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and Program Management.

  • Support change management, including change requests, impact assessments, approvals, implementation tracking, and configuration updates.

  • Ensure delivered products are built, tested, documented, and shipped according to the approved configuration.

  • Provide accurate configuration records for audits, certifications, inspections, customer reviews, and internal assessments.

  • Monitor product data quality, identify gaps or risks, and improve configuration management standards, tools, workflows, and governance.

  • Support PLM/ERP tool development and train colleagues on configuration management processes and best practices.


What you bring to the team:

  • Degree in engineering, aerospace, systems engineering, industrial engineering, product management, or a comparable technical qualification.

  • Experience in configuration management, product data management, technical documentation, PLM, or a similar role.

  • Ideally, experience in aerospace, aviation, defence, robotics, electronics, or drone industries.

  • Good understanding of hardware/software configuration management, baselines, version control, change management, and release processes.

  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or similar tools.

  • Familiarity with BOMs, material master data, product structures, technical drawings, software releases, and engineering change processes.

  • Knowledge of relevant quality, aerospace, or configuration management standards is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, documentation quality, and traceability.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand complex technical product structures.

  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with interdisciplinary teams, internal stakeholders, auditors, customers, and program teams.

  • Proactive mindset with motivation to improve processes, develop tools, and share knowledge.

  • Fluency in English; German is a plus.
