As Head of Hardware Engineering, you will be responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of UAV hardware development while leading a multidisciplinary engineering team. You will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept design and engineering calculations through prototyping, testing, and production readiness, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry standards.

This is a full-time office job. Candidates must be located in Kyiv.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Strategic direction: Define and oversee the roadmap for UAV hardware development, ensuring alignment with company goals.

• Team leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a team of engineers specializing in CAD design, aerodynamics, composites, and electronics integration.

• Technical oversight: Supervise structural and aerodynamic calculations, FEM analysis, and integration of propulsion, sensors, and payloads.

• Innovation management: Drive adoption of advanced materials (composites, additive manufacturing) and cutting-edge design practices.

• Prototype and testing: Ensure efficient prototyping, testing, and iterative refinement of UAV designs.

• Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with manufacturing, production, and certification teams to guarantee compliance and smooth implementation.

• Documentation governance: Establish standards for technical drawings, specifications, and requirements, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

• Budget and resource planning: Manage project budgets, allocate resources, and monitor timelines.

What you bring to the team:

• Education: Higher technical degree in aerospace, mechanical, or aeronautical engineering.

• Experience: 10+ years in hardware engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, preferably in UAV or aerospace.

• CAD expertise: Proficiency in CATIA or equivalent CAD systems, with ability to guide complex design projects.

• Aerodynamics and mechanics: Strong understanding of aerodynamic principles and engineering mechanics.

• Electronics integration: Knowledge of electronic systems, propulsion units, sensors, and payload integration.

• Prototype development: Proven track record in leading prototype builds and collaboration with production teams.

• Leadership skills: Ability to inspire teams, make strategic decisions, and manage complex projects.

• Problem-solving: Systematic approach to identifying risks and implementing solutions.

• Aircraft/UAV design experience: Hands-on background in UAV or aircraft development.

• Composites and additive manufacturing: Familiarity with advanced materials and production methods.

• Certification standards: Knowledge of MIL-STD, ISO, DIN, DSTU standards.
