Master Thesis - Advanced Sensor Processing for Navigation (m/f/d)

As Master thesis student, you will be a key part of our Navigation Team, exploring advanced data-driven approaches to enhance the robustness and reliability of autonomous aircrafts. Together with out world-class team, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies.

You will be working closely with stakeholders from the Navigation, Software and Flight-Test departments to develop and evaluate innovative methods using real-world flight data. By enhancing the robustness of our navigation system in challenging environments, your master's thesis will make a direct contribution to the autonomous capabilities of Quantum Systems' aircraft.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Research and evaluate state-of-the-art data-driven methods for safety-critical navigation applications

• Analyse real-world sensor and flight-test data to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement

• Develop, train, and validate promising approaches in a simulation and prototyping environment

• Compare your solutions with established model-based methods using representative scenarios and meaningful performance metrics

• Collaborate closely with our Navigation, Software, and Flight-Test teams

• Integrate selected concepts into our existing navigation framework and evaluate them using flight-test data

• Document your findings and communicate results through technical discussions, presentations, and your Master thesis

What you bring to the team:

• You are currently studying robotics, aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a comparable technical discipline

• You already have practical experience in machine learning, data analysis, signal processing, state estimation, or autonomous systems

• You are personally interested in autonomous systems, aviation, robotics, and emerging technologies

• Due to your open, communicative, friendly and competent attitude, it is easy for you to be considered as an internal expert.

• You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility independently.

• Communication in English is a matter of course for you.
