Prototyping Technician Teamlead (m/f/d)

As a Team Lead in the Prototyping Technician Team, you will play a key role in driving the development of Quantum-Systems’ next generation of products. You will lead and empower a team of technicians, ensuring the rapid and high-quality execution of prototype builds, testing, and refinement of innovative concepts. From early-stage integration to functional validation, you will coordinate efforts, remove obstacles, and guide your team in turning ideas into robust, working systems while maintaining a hands-on connection to the work.​

Based in Gilching, you’ll work hands-on with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, following an agile and practical approach to innovation. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will help accelerate the development process and deliver impactful solutions.​

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Lead and coordinate a team of prototyping technicians in the rapid development of next-generation systems​

• Plan, prioritize, and oversee prototype builds, ensuring alignment with project timelines and engineering goals​

• Act as the interface between engineering, testing, and production teams to ensure smooth execution and communication​

• Ensure high-quality assembly, integration, and validation of prototypes from early concepts to functional demonstrators​

• Establish and continuously improve prototyping workflows, tools, and best practices for speed and reliability​

• Monitor resource allocation (people, tools, materials) and remove blockers to maintain development velocity​

• Mentor and support team members, fostering technical growth and a strong ownership mindset​

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards in all prototyping activities​

What you bring to the team:

• Strong hands-on experience in prototyping, system integration, or test environments (ideally in aerospace,

  robotics, or similar fields)​

• Proven experience leading or coordinating technical teams in fast-paced development settings​

• Solid understanding of multidisciplinary systems (mechanical, electrical, and basic software integration)​

• Ability to translate engineering concepts into practical build and test solutions​

• Structured and pragmatic mindset with a strong focus on execution and results​

• Experience with agile development processes and iterative prototyping cycles​

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under uncertainty​

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to bridge gaps between engineers and technicians​

• High level of ownership, reliability, and attention to detail​
