Senior Integration Engineer N3XT Interceptor C‑UAS (m/f/d)
- On-site
- Gilching, Bayern, Germany
- Hardware
About the Role
At Quantum-Systems, we are redefining aerial defense. Our Counter‑UAS interceptor is a rocket‑boosted, all‑electric drone capable of 400 km/h, delivering 10 kW peak power through an in‑house developed powertrain. Designed from day one for mass production at scale, this platform represents a new class of high‑performance, modular UAV systems.
We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to take this technological powerhouse from advanced prototype to tens of thousands of units produced globally.
Your Mission
You will own the system level integration of the Counter UAS platform, ensuring seamless interaction between mechanical, electrical, powertrain, propulsion, avionics, software and auxiliary systems. This -is a highly handson role at the intersection of engineering disciplines, with direct impact on system performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You will play a key role in derisking designs, leading integration and verification activities, and supporting the transition to serial production.
What is your Day to Day Mission:
System‑level integration of propulsion (BLDC motors, ESCs, batteries), avionics (sensors, data links, antennas, flight controller, companion computer), payloads, mechanical structures, and auxiliary systems (boosters, charging and storage infrastructure)
Hands‑on root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex, cross‑disciplinary integration issues in close collaboration with mechanical, electronics, and software engineers, as well as external partners and suppliers
Definition and implementation of sub-system interfaces in coordination with cross discipline engineering teams and suppliers (wiring, interfaces & connectors, communications protocols, power budgets, thermal management)
Planning, coordination, and execution of integration, testing and verification activities across the full product lifecycle—from early prototypes to series‑production systems
Technical guidance and mentoring of junior engineers during integration, testing, and system validation phases
What You Bring to the Team
5–10 years of professional experience in systems or integration engineering within aerospace, automotive, defence, or other safety‑critical environments
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary system interactions (mechanical, electrical / electromagnetic, software, propulsion, power systems)
Hands‑on experience with, debugging, and verification on complex products
Experience working in prototype‑heavy environments transitioning into series production
Structured, analytical mindset combined with a pragmatic, execution‑driven approach
Ability to communicate clearly across disciplines and align teams around system‑level goals
Passion for complex hardware systems — UAVs, robotics or hands‑on technical projects are a strong plus!
