Team Lead Production & Operations (m/f/d)

As Team Lead Production & Operations, you will be the key lead of our Quantum Maritime production organisation, and you will be responsible to build the team for the production, supply chain, quality control and entire documentation. Being part of our world-class team, of currently 1000 team members around the world, you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of maritime drone technology.  

You will work closely with your colleagues from engineering to realise products within the philosophy of Quantum Systems in the maritime domain. You will lead a team to create the prototypes and based on the testing results, develop the supply chain and serial production from the start to serial production ready engineering. Your target will be to set up the organisation, which ensures the delivery of Quantum Maritime products in a scalable serial production with the outcome of becoming the benchmark for sea and underwater data collection solutions with unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and unmanned underwater vessels (UUVs). 

 

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Lead and motivate teams with an open, transparent, and collaborative leadership style.

  • Translate engineering outputs into scalable, efficient production quantities.

  • Optimize production methods to reduce costs, shorten lead times, and improve overall efficiency.

  • Ensure stable output and operational performance of the new production facility.

  • Build and expand the plant in a scalable, sustainable way that prevents operational overload.

  • Manage a cost‑efficient, high‑quality just‑in‑time supply chain and optimize logistics flows.

  • Foster a culture where mistakes are learned from once and shared through structured lessons learned.

  • Balance long‑term profitability with short‑term prevention of production stoppages.

  • Ensure complete, accurate documentation and consistent product quality across all stages.

  • Establish and manage the production organization, including planning, capacity control, and early escalation.

  • Build and maintain a quality management system aligned with ISO 9001 / EN 9100 standards.

  • Oversee internal/external acceptance processes, supplier audits, and end‑to‑end value chain quality.

  • Lead strategic procurement activities: supplier sourcing, risk management, common parts strategy, and acquisition scanning.

  • Track orders, deadlines, quality issues, and supplier complaints to ensure on‑time, compliant delivery.

  • Ensure compliance in production safety, plant safety, material handling, regulatory requirements, and drive lean process optimization (monitoring, workplace design, standardized work).

What you bring to the team:

  • You have a degree in the field of engineering, production or industrial engineering, or relevant experience and matching background 

  • You already have at least 5 years of professional experience in leading serial production facilities 

  • You are skilled in ERP Systems 

  • You are interested in bringing technology to the next level 

  • You are open minded and communicative, have intercultural competence and emotional intelligence, and your competent manner makes it easy for you to be seen as an expert. 

  • You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility forward independently, respect deadlines and you are willing to go any needed extra mile 

  • Communication in English and German on a professional level. Additional languages are welcome
