Technical Documentation Engineer (Technical Writer)

The role is based in the Kyiv region, and we will expect you to work full-time in the office. We have a shuttle service from the nearest metro station.

We’re looking for a Technical Documentation Engineer (Technical Writer) to join our team and create high-quality operational documentation for next-generation UAV systems. You’ll work closely with design engineers, pilots, and R&D teams to ensure accurate, clear, and compliant documentation for users and maintenance personnel.

This role is for you if you have a passion for technical writing, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear instructions. You thrive in a collaborative environment and want to contribute to innovations in aerospace technology.

What is your Day-to-Day Mission:

  1. Documentation Development

  • Create and update User Manuals for UAV pilots: system description, ground control station operation, antennas and communication equipment, flight preparation, piloting rules, and emergency procedures.

  • Develop Maintenance Documentation: inspection schedules, service procedures, component replacement guidelines (propellers, motors, batteries).

  • Prepare numbered documentation (forms, passports, labels).

2. Collaboration & Updates

  • Work closely with design engineers, pilots, customers, and research institutes.

  • Ensure timely updates and revisions to documentation.

  • Create diagrams and illustrations for manuals.

What you bring to the team:

  • Higher technical education.

  • At least 2 years of experience in technical documentation or a similar role.

  • Knowledge of standards: ESKD, DSTU V 15.000, GOST 2.601 for operational documentation.

  • Familiarity with international standards: S1000D, IEC/IEEE 82079-1, EN ISO 7010, ASD-STE100.

  • English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher (reading datasheets, translating instructions, NATO terminology compliance).

  • Understanding of UAV flight principles, autopilot systems, video transmission, telemetry, GPS, antennas.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Experience with CAD viewers (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA — advantage).

  • NATO codification experience (assigning nomenclature numbers — a plus).
