As an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a vital contributor to our mechanical design team, supporting the design, development, and implementation of our innovative battery and charger products. Working within our world-class team of over 30 specialists, you will help push the boundaries of sustainable mobility by executing high-quality engineering tasks.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across electronics, firmware, and supply chain departments, applying core engineering principles to move projects from concept toward production. Under the guidance of senior leadership, you will ensure designs meet performance, cost, and reliability targets. This role offers a blend of hands-on design and an introduction to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), allowing you to grow your technical expertise while supporting EFT Mobility’s mission to shape the next generation of sustainable transport.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Active outreach and exchange with colleagues from ME-/EE-/SE-/SYS-Departments to clarify Product Requirements and dependencies

  • Active Participation in the Design Concept Identification

  • Performance of basic dimensioning and concept calculations (Mechanical and Thermal)

  • Build up and continuous optimization, coordination and maintenance of the Overall Product Package

  • Design of industrializable Mech. Parts and Fixtures (Focus: Injection Molding)

  • Performance of inhouse Rapid Prototyping to derisk design decisions early on (Focus: 3D-Printing)

  • Generation of releasable Part and Product Drawings for Procurement

  • Preparation of internal and external Development and Product documentation (Review Documents, BoM, Assembly Instructions)

  • Participation in Product and Production Meetings to support Product Management, Procurement, Testing&Validation, and Production in decision making and to collect Change Requests

  • Support Tool and Jig Design for internal and external Testing and Validation activities

  • Support in Product Documentation activities and Drawings generation for other Products

  • Support in continuous improving the ME Department (Processes, Tools, Workshop) by active participation in team/department meetings


What you bring to the team:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Master's degree preferred).

  • Experience: min 2 years of experience in mechanical design (can be from a first job or a student initiative like “Formula Student”).

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Catia v5

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, casting, stamping).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in english

  • German language skills are welcome.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work from our offices in Munich, Germany
