Data Engineer

The role is based in the Kyiv region, and we will expect you to work full-time in the office. We have a shuttle service from the nearest metro station.

About the Job

As a Data Engineer, you will be a key part of our Data Engineering and Cloud team. You will help internal and external stakeholders to understand flight logs, establish the database, and help with flight testing instruments. Together with our world-class team, currently 5 team members, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies.

You will be working closely with stakeholders in Ukraine and Germany from the R&D, Production, and Customer support departments. 

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Develop and maintain back-end systems for tool-based flight data analysis used in R&D, support, and production 

• Continuously improve the existing toolset and expand the automated test suite 

• Design, build, and manage robust database infrastructure for large-scale flight data

• Integrate cloud services and deploy scalable infrastructure (e.g. data pipelines, APIs)

What you bring to the team:

• Educational background: Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace) 

• Back-End Skills: 

  • Strong experience developing back-end solutions in Python 

  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice architecture 

• Database Expertise: 

  • Hands-on experience with both relational, timeseries and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) 

  • Efficient data storage and retrieval strategies 

• Cloud & DevOps: 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) 

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines is a plus

  • Infrastructure as code (i.e. Terraform)

• Analytical Thinking: 

  • Basic understanding of statistics and signal processing is a plus 

  • Knowledge of simulation and analysis of dynamic systems (e.g. ODEs, LTI systems) 

• Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with MATLAB is a bonus 

  • Passion for aviation, telemetry, or flight mechanics is highly welcome
