As a Hardware Electronics Engineer, you will be a key member of the Droneport team and drive the development and integration of robust communication and control hardware for our next-generation droneport infrastructure. With our world-class team of hardware and software engineers you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of drone operating platforms. You will work closely with stakeholders from mechanical engineering, software development and product management to develop embedded electronics that connect, control, and communicate across drone, droneport and operator platforms. With the mission to build reliable, scalable and integrated systems, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the benchmark for aerial data collection solutions with unmanned aerial systems (sUAV).

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Design and develop embedded systems including custom PCBs, communication modules, and interface circuits.

  • Integrate heterogeneous communication technologies (Ethernet, 4G/5G, GPS/GNSS, UWB, tactical radios such as Silvus).

  • Build and test protoypes of your own PCB designs.

  • Collaborate on system-level architecture decisions and interface definitions.

  • Own the full development cycle: schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM selection, bring-up, and verification.

  • Support EMC compliance, environmental testing, and design-for-manufacture (DFM) readiness.

  • Work closely with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless hardware integration.

What you bring to the team:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware development for aerospace, automotive, industrial or robotics systems.

  • Proficient in ECAD tools (Altium Designer preferred).

  • You are familiar with integrating STM32 MCUs into embedded systems.

  • Solid experience with mixed-signal PCB design and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, CAN, USB).

  • Hands-on knowledge of RF communications, GNSS, UWB, mesh radios and antenna integration is a strong plus.

  • Experience with SMD soldering is a plus

  • Familiarity with EMC design principles, testing, and certifications.
