Junior Procurement Specialist R&D & Projekte (m/w/d)

About the Role:

As a Junior Procurement Specialist – R&D & Projects, you will support procurement activities within our development and innovation programs for unmanned systems (UxV). You will work closely with Engineering, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Finance, Strategic Procurement, and our suppliers to ensure that procurement processes run smoothly throughout the product development lifecycle.

In this role, you will serve as an important interface between technical and commercial functions. You will support the resolution of operational procurement issues, track deliveries, and ensure transparent material and information flows. At the same time, you will gain valuable exposure to development and project procurement topics, enabling you to gradually grow into a Technical Procurement or Project Procurement role.

Your Day-to-Day Mission:

  • Support procurement activities for development and project-related requirements.

  • Process and track purchase requisitions while supporting the operational procurement process.

  • Coordinate and resolve procurement-related issues with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Take ownership of the procurement process from requisition and purchase order creation through goods receipt and invoice processing, ensuring the accurate execution of each step in close coordination with suppliers and internal departments.

  • Monitor delivery schedules and proactively follow up on open purchase orders and critical deliveries.

  • Maintain and update procurement, supplier, and purchase order data within the ERP system.

  • Coordinate technical and commercial inquiries between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Support RFQs (Requests for Quotation), quotation evaluations, and supplier assessments.

  • Assist the Project Procurement team in development, industrialization, and production ramp-up projects.

  • Prepare analyses, reports, and KPIs related to supplier performance and procurement quality.

  • Contribute ideas, support initiatives, and help implement continuous improvements across procurement and supply chain processes.

What you bring to the team:

  • Completed degree or vocational training in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in strategic procurement, supplier development, or materials sourcing, ideally in the technology sector.

  • Experience in independently managing technical projects and supplier relationships.

  • High level of self-motivation, a structured way of working, and the ability to take responsibility.

  • Strong communication skills and confident demeanor in both German and English.

  • Ability to be recognized as an internal expert and proactively create added value.

  • Willingness to travel for occasional business trips.
