About the Role

As a Prototyping Technician in the N3XT Department, you will play a key role in building Quantum-Systems' next generation of products. Your main responsibility will be to support the rapid development of prototypes by assembling, testing, and refining innovative concepts. From initial builds to functional validation, you will ensure high-quality execution and contribute to turning ideas into reality.

 

Based in Gilching, you’ll work hands-on with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists, following an agile and practical approach to innovation. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will help accelerate the development process and deliver impactful solutions.

What is Your Day-to-Day Mission?

  • Assemble and build drone prototypes based on engineering specifications and design files.

  • Install and integrate hardware components such as sensors, motors, and avionics into prototype systems.

  • Preparing prototypes for customer demonstrations and field testing.

  • Perform soldering and wiring for electronic components.

  • Operate and maintain manufacturing tools and equipment, including CNC machines, 3D printers and hand tools.

  • 3D print components for rapid prototyping.

  • Conduct functional tests on prototypes to verify performance and identify issues.

  • Support iterative design improvements and collaborate with engineers and designers to troubleshoot and refine prototypes.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Proven experience in building, assembling, and troubleshooting various types of drones or model aircraft.

  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting common autopilot software, such as PX4, ArduPilot, Betaflight, and iNav.

  • Strong hands-on skills in assembling and integrating electronic and mechanical systems.

  • Experience with composite materials (e.g., cutting, laminating, bonding, and finishing) is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing and prototyping processes, including machining, basic fabrication, and 3D printing.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality throughout the prototyping process.

  • Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills to work effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.
