As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be a key part of our Global Supply Chain Team, supporting the local manufacturing of advanced drone systems in Romania. Together with our World-Class Team, you will play an empowering role in delivering systems for one of Romania's most significant defense procurement programs, with drone assembly taking place entirely in Romania under the European SAFE initiative. The Romanian production site will not only support local defense programs but will also contribute to fulfilling customer orders across Europe and support the delivery of mission-critical systems for Ukraine, reinforcing Quantum Systems' commitment to strengthening European security and defense capabilities.

As part of this strategic investment, Quantum Systems is rapidly expanding its presence in Romania and plans to hire up to 50 employees in 2026 and up to 150 employees in 2027. The Brasov site will become a key manufacturing and operational hub within our European production network, creating exciting opportunities for professionals who want to contribute to cutting-edge defense and autonomous technology programs.

You will be working closely with stakeholders from the Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Material Planning, Logistics, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure the timely procurement of materials and components required for production. As part of the Global Supply Chain organization, your mission will be to secure reliable supply sources, optimize purchasing processes, and contribute to the efficient delivery of mission-critical systems deployed across Europe and Ukraine.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Manage the procurement of materials, components, and services required to support manufacturing operations.

  • Create, track, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and supply continuity.

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, lead times, delivery schedules, and supply performance.

  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and proactively address potential shortages or delays.

  • Support supplier selection, onboarding, and qualification activities in collaboration with global procurement teams.

  • Negotiate delivery schedules, pricing, and commercial conditions within defined purchasing guidelines.

  • Collaborate closely with Material Planning and Production teams to align procurement activities with production requirements.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing data, supplier records, and procurement documentation within ERP systems.

  • Monitor market trends, supplier risks, and material availability to identify potential supply chain challenges.

  • Support inventory optimization initiatives while ensuring material availability.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities within purchasing and supply chain processes.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and applicable regulations.


What you bring to the team:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain operations, or material management.

  • Understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and purchase order administration.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement tools.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Analytical mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, or other industrial environments is an advantage.

  • Professional fluency in English.

  • Romanian language
