UAS Operational Authorisation Manager (m/f/d)

As an UAS Operational Authorization Manager, you will be a key member of our Global V&V Department, ensuring that our UAS prototypes and products comply with applicable regulatory requirements for operations inside Germany and internationally.

You will be part of the Certification Team and work closely with System Engineers, System & Flight-Testing Engineers to ensure our UAS meet both operational and design requirements, enabling approval for testing and operations at multiple sites across Europe and Worldwide.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, maintain, and update operational documentation, including Operations Manuals and Emergency Response Plans, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2019/947, applying the SORA (Specific Operational Risk Assessment) methodology at its latest published revision (e.g. SORA 2.5). 

  • Authority Coordination: Plan and coordinate meetings with National Aviation Authorities (e.g. LBA, Austro Control, AESA) and local partners to ensure operational authorization milestones and approval timelines are achieved. 

  • Cross-Border: Support cross‑border operational authorization processes in accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2019/947 within the European Union. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance certification, engineering, and operational authorization processes within your area of responsibility. 

What you bring to the team:

  • A completed degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.  

  • 3–4 years of professional experience in the UAS, aerospace, or defense sector within the EU.  

  • A proactive, open, and communicative mindset, enabling you to quickly become a trusted internal expert.  

  • A strong sense of integrity, reliability, and discretion.  

  • Demonstrated expertise in EASA UAS regulations, in particular Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and 2019/945, and a commitment to staying up to date with regulatory and technological developments.  

  • Familiarity with relevant aerospace certification and compliance standards, such as:  

    • ARP4754 / ARP4761 

    • DO‑178C / DO‑330 / DO-254 

    • MIL‑STD‑810H / MIL‑STD‑461G 

  • Active participation in UAS industry forums and working groups in Germany and/or internationally.  

  • Valid UAS pilot certificates A1–A3 (A2 is an advantage).  

  • Business‑level German and English (C1 or native), enabling effective written and verbal communication with local aviation authorities.
