About the Role

At Quantum Systems, we develop highly autonomous, high-performance interceptor systems for military and governmental applications. Our C-UAS platforms operate under the most demanding dynamic, environmental, and mission-critical conditions and must meet the highest standards of reliability, robustness, and operational readiness.

As a Senior Systems Verification & Validation Engineer, you will take ownership of the system-level verification, validation, and qualification strategy for our interceptor systems—from concept development through operational deployment. You will ensure that requirements are translated into robust system solutions and that overall system performance is demonstrated through structured testing, qualification, and acceptance activities.

Working closely with Systems Engineering, Autonomy, Avionics, Simulation, and Flight Test teams, you will ensure that our systems are not only developed successfully but also proven to perform under real-world operational conditions.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Own the system-wide verification, validation, qualification, and acceptance strategy for our autonomous Counter-UAS interceptor systems.

  • Derive and structure customer, mission, and safety requirements into verifiable system requirements.

  • Define verification and validation approaches as well as qualification and compliance strategies.

  • Plan and coordinate verification and validation activities across software, hardware, simulation, and system levels.

  • Execute model-based verification approaches as well as Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test campaigns.

  • Validate flight control, navigation, guidance, and autonomy functions under nominal and edge-case conditions.

  • Define and conduct robustness, stress-testing, and fault-injection campaigns.

  • Evaluate system behavior in the event of sensor failures, communication losses, interference, and challenging environmental conditions.

  • Support and analyze ground, environmental, and flight test activities and assess results against defined acceptance criteria.

  • Identify and manage qualification, certification, and system-related risks.

  • Collaborate with internal development teams as well as military and governmental customers, auditors, and other stakeholders.

  • Create, review, and maintain requirements, compliance evidence, qualification reports, and test documentation.

  • Define release criteria for prototype, pre-production, and production systems.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Successfully completed degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • Several years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, Verification & Validation, Qualification, or Testing of complex systems in Aerospace, Defense, UAV, or other safety-critical industries.

  • Strong understanding of Requirements Engineering, system architectures, and requirements-based verification.

  • Experience planning and executing V&V activities at component, subsystem, and system levels.

  • Practical experience with model-based development, simulations, SITL, HITL, and system testing.

  • Knowledge of risk analysis, hazard assessment, and failure analysis methodologies.

  • Experience with military, aerospace, or other regulated development and qualification processes.

  • Structured, analytical, and data-driven working style with the ability to critically challenge technical assumptions and make well-founded decisions.

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
