As Technical Procurement Specialist – PCBs / Electronics, you will own the end-to-end procurement of printed circuit boards (PCBs) from contract manufacturers (CMs). You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing: translating technical requirements into clear supplier packages, negotiating cost and lead time, and making sure the right boards show up, on time, at the right quality.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how PCBs are actually made (stackups, materials, tolerances, DFM) and enjoys the commercial and operational side of getting things built at scale.
What is your Day to Day Mission:
Own PCB procurement end-to-end – from RFQ and quote analysis through PO creation, order tracking, delivery, and closure.
Translate engineering needs into supplier-ready data – review BOMs, Gerbers, stackups, drawings, and specifications to ensure CMs have complete and correct information.
Manage contract manufacturers – build strong relationships, align on capabilities and capacity, and drive performance on cost, quality, lead time, and responsiveness, including on-site visits of contract manufacturers
Optimize cost and lead time – run competitive RFQs, analyze trade-offs (volume, lead time, technology level), and negotiate pricing and terms with CMs.
Mitigate supply and technical risks – monitor material availability (e.g. laminates, copper weights, finishes), propose alternates, and escalate issues before they become schedule slips.
Support NPI and engineering changes – coordinate production ramp-up, manage ECO impacts on PCB procurement, and ensure smooth transitions from prototype to volume.
Ensure quality and compliance – work closely with QA/engineering to address nonconformances, track supplier performance, and ensure boards meet required standards (e.g. IPC, customer specs).
Keep everything organized and visible – maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP and tracking tools, provide clear status updates, and keep stakeholders aligned on dates and risks.
What you bring to the team:
Technical background in electronics or PCBs – ability to read schematics, BOMs, and Gerber/ODB++ files; familiarity with PCB stackups, materials, finishes, and manufacturing constraints.
Experience in electronics/PCB procurement or supply chain – ideally working directly with PCB fabs and/or PCB assembly contract manufacturers.
Comfortable working with engineers – you can discuss layer counts, impedance, controlled tolerances, and DFM/DFT topics and translate that into supplier requirements.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills – able to compare quotes, build cost breakdowns, negotiate pricing and MOQs, and structure win–win agreements.
Data-driven and detail-oriented – you spot inconsistencies in BOMs/specs, track multiple orders in parallel, and use data (lead times, yields, costs) to drive decisions.
Tool-savvy – experience with ERP/MRP systems and common engineering tools (e.g. Altium/KiCad/Cadence exports, Excel/Sheets for analysis, ticketing/project tools for tracking).
Collaborative communicator – clear written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal teams; able to summarize complex situations into actionable updates both in English and German.
Bias for execution – you’re proactive, take ownership of issues, and push to resolution when schedules and builds are at risk.Familiarity with PLM and configuration management (ECR/ECO), supplier qualification, FAI (AS9102), and quality documentation.
Clear, concise communication and the ability to lead cross-functional reviews and drive decisions in a fast-moving environment.
